Dean Joachim Hempel is responsible for the organisation and conception of all work at Brunswik cathedral, putting a special stress on conception and realization of the work at city centre churches.

Amongst them:

• offers concerning services and liturgy
• connnection and co-ordination with the bishop whose church Brunswik cathedral is
• responsibility for any member of the stuff, whether full-time, part-time or voluntary
• training of voluntary stuff members specially concerning work with tourists and visitors
• care for ecumenical contacts
• management of « studies+trips » at the cathedral
• Bible school
• public relations
• legal representative of the Lutheran- Protestant state church in Brunswik towards the synod of the Lutheran-Protestant church in Germany
